Newtownabbey Borough Council
Endeavour Sculpture
Designed by Stephen Todd, the sculpture represents sporting achievement. This is fabricated from stainless steel and was erected at the Valley Leisure Centre. A miniature scaled replica was also fabricated and presented as an award to a local athlete.
Whiteabbey Roundabout Sculpture
Also designed by Stephen Todd, this sculpture is said to represent the costal maritime ties (sail like shape), and the local monks of Whiteabbey whom used to wear white robes (painted white). The construction is galvanised mild steel with a special marine three coat paint system. The blue polycarbonate cap has LED lights inside and the three wind vanes located below indicate the wind direction. The structure was fabricated and erected in three sections.
Caridian BCT – Bag Drying Conveyor
Working alongside Solve Engineering we designed a conveyor that was able to accept four different sizes of bags and with a variable processing speed of up to 2000 bags/hour, specific to our remit. We then added an air knife design mounted over the conveyor in order to dry the bags after sterilisation. The dry bags are then packed which greatly reduces the risk of mould and bacteria growth on packaged product. The stainless steel air supply is filtered through a HEPA filter, the machine is made from stainless steel and is located inside an ISO Class 8 clean room, also supplied and constructed by ourselves.
Old Bushmills Distillery
Falling Film Evaporator – GEA Process Engineering.
Designed to evaporate the distillate from waste pot ale. We were responsible for turn key mechanical installation. We fabricated and erected the galvanised steel portal frame, access ladders and access platform. All stainless steel process pipework and steam & condensate pipework, installation of the evaporator and MVR unit, installation of all pumps and valves and finally lagging the pipework.
CIP System – APV Ireland.
Refurbishment of the CIP system involved increasing the capacity of the SS water and caustic tanks, new CIP pipework for recirculation and distribution, pump and control valve installations, heat exchanger installations and steam and condensate pipework. Also included was lagging and cladding.
Heat Recovery System – Spirax Sarco.
Installation of FREME heat recovery unit in boiler-house, modification of distribution steam pipework, installation of control valves and modification of condensate system.
Dale Farm
Yoghurt & Fruit Mixing Station (Rowan Glen, Scotland)
Fabricated process skid unit for mixing fruit yoghurts. The large fabricated tank at the rear of the unit is for yoghurt while the four small tanks at the front of the unit are for the fruit. The yoghurt and fruit are pumped through static inline mixers located on the delivery pipework. The skid unit also has CIP (Cleaning in Place) capability with a separate CIP return pump and a supply manifold. The unit was designed by Dale Farm and Solve Engineering, the electrical panel was supplied by R&R Engineering.
